"Now hold on just a minute!" Cat's indignant voice cried, and the pink-haired girl stepped out from behind Kai, her hands on her hips. "How /dare/ you say anything like that about my family! They would never, ever, ever do anything like that! The Pokemorph thing wasn't their fault!"

<But they must be punished all the same> the unseen person responded, and an elegant-looking Suicune popped out of the shadows where it seemed impossible for it to have been there before. It padded across the courtyard to the three companions, looking them over carefully.
<Hm. This boy does not have the scent of a 'morph. Though you, girl ...>

"Shut up!" Cat frowned, turning her back on the Suicune and facing Kai. "Listen, Kai. My name is Catalina Kaima. My family specialise in protecting Pokemorphs and teaching kids. That's why they built this centre. But something's wierd. It's back home, not in this stupid tower!"

<All is relative.> the Suicune butted in, turning his eyes on Kai. <You seek answers, don't you? Answers to this castle of death, why you are here. Answers you will be unlikely to recieve. I suggest you give up now, before it is too late. Climb no further.>
Though this was said in a quiet, calm tone of voice, the Suicune looked ready to leap into battle at any moment.}

Countless questions flew through Kai's mind, confusing him completely. Who are the Kaima's? Who, or what, does this voice belong to? Do I have any food in my backpack? Thankfully, some of these questions were answered.

Kai had almost jumped out of his skin as the Suicune emerged from the shadows. He had heard a lot about this pokemon and it's status, and had thought rather glumly that he would never see a pokemon such as this. Obviously, he was quite wrong.

His mind took in all the answers and information that was being said, or at least tried to. "So you're a pokemorph, Cat?" he asked out of curiosity. The teen had nothing against such people, as he had quite liked the Raichu morph he had met earlier in his journey.

It took him a moment to answer the Suicune. Not because he didn't know the answer, but because he was stunned and honored to be talking to such a pokemon. "Yes, I seek answers and a way out of this retched tower. But what do you mean by castle of death? And if I do not climb any further, I will never leave this place," he finally said, making eye contact with the the legendary.

Tsunami, who was just standing there silently watching the events uncurl in front of him, noticed that the Suicune seemed ready to fight. Surely he wasn't going to have to fight the Suicune?

"You know that if anyone succeeds then everyone will be saved." she said, her own words nearly as cryptic as the legendary Pokemon's. "So what do you mean?"

<I meant what I said.> the Suicune replied to both teenagers with a toss of his head. <The Guardians will not stand for interference with their plan. The consequences of failure would be dire. Yet still, you wish to continue. A brave effort, to be sure.>

Somehow, the Suicune seemed to be really thinking about what Kai and Cat had said.

<I see.> he said after a period of silence. <So, that is your will. You are strong, and together you may stand a chance. Here. This will help you.>

Seemingly out of nowhere, a small yellow gem came flying through the air, landing at Kai's feet. It was beautiful, shining in the gloom of the courtyard.

<Good luck, children. You will need it.>

And the Suicune started to disappear into thin air again, as if he had never been there.}
