Kyle's further troubles in the tower.

As Kyle slept, dreaming of Meganium, his brain awoke, and realized that the floor had changed. Odd.

Kyle, wake up! Wake up! We fell down and went up a floor!

However, Kyle continued dreaming. HIs brain sighed- there was only one choice: to enter the subconscious. I really don't like doing this, but- muttered Kyle's brain, whom we will henceforth call "Brain" to save time, before jumping into the depths of Kyle's brain. Wait- a brain jumped into himself? Huh? How is that possible? Oh, never mind- it doesn't matter because at that moment, Brain found himself in the subconscious- a large room filled with Aipom and Spinda statues that were constantly exploding, scaring the heck out of Kyle, who was standing in the middle. It didn't take Brain long to notice something was wrong- normally, he entered the subconscious and appeared as a transparent version of Kyle. Now, however, he appeared as something green, with leaves- he slapped his mental forehead. He was a Sceptile subconsciously. Oh, brother. Brain walked over to the subconscious Kyle, grabbed him, and shook him, before exiting the subconscious post haste.

Kyle woke up. "Wha- Brain, you killed my dream!" he yelled indignantly, forgetting that others could hear him.

I had to- we're on the second floor now. And please don't yell- I can hear you just fine without vocal noises you know.

Oh yeah- oops.

Origin was the only person about to hear Kyle speaking - and she didn't much care. She was sniffing about the edges of the bed with her little black nose, which perfectly matched everything nearby - all that could be seen of the room around was, well, nothing. Everything was totally pitch-black, the only light coming from a lantern right in the middle of the bed's canopy.

<Oh, you're awake.> Origin said, looking at Kyle. <Look, I found this ... thing.> she said, shoving what looked like a remote control towards the Sceptile pokemorph. There were lots of buttons, but there was one which, rather suspiciously, had Kyle's name on it in flourescent green letters. There was also a tiny picture of a Meganium head on it.

"Okay... this is just strange. I dream of a Meganium, and what should appear but a Meganium remote control, with my name on it? This must be-"

A trap!

Actually, brain, I was thinking more along the lines of 'a gift', but that doesn't matter as I make all the decisions, now does it?

Why did I agree to let you do that again?

Because you are a mere internal organ, whereas I am a whole being and yadda, yadda, yadda.... actually, I've got no clue. Maybe you should ask-

Kyle, remember a certain vow we made?

Oh yeah... nevermind. Let's just push the dang button already.

With his mental conversation finished, Kyle turned to Origin. "Brace yourself," he said, before mashing his finger into the small neon-green lettered button.

BOOM!

The second Kyle's finger pressed the button, a huge flash of light illuminated the whole room, revealing hundreds of grass Pokemon surrounding the bed on which Kyle and Origin were sitting.

<Congratulations!!>

A rather-overlarge Bulbasaur waddled forwards in a way that made Origin snort with barely concealed laughter and planted a strange box at Kyle's feet.

<A present from a friend.> he boomed in a very deep voice before he waddled back, wobbling to a halt underneath a huge banner which read "Congrats! The second floor!" in huge red and yellow letters.

<I don't know if you should open that, Kyle ...> Origin said, sticking her nose in the air /again/. There didn't seem to be much the Ninetales approved of in this tower.

Kyle, she's right. We don't know a thing about that box... and that Bulbasaur is scaring me.

Unfortunately Brain, for all intents and purposes, you are the submissive personality out of the two of us, whereas I am the dominant.

Can I at least make one decision here?

No. If you started making decisions, then I would be the one who is always acting as the conscience and sarcasm provider, and you know I woud be no good at that.

Alright. Let's open it then- I see your point. But at least check it out first.

Deal.

Kyle picked the box up once and rattled it, then, before anyone else could react, ripped it open, placed the contents on the floor, and jumped back in one smooth motion.

Brilliant plan Kyle.

See? I knew you would be better at being sarcastic.

A small tinkling sound echoed around the room as a pair of earrings hit the floor. Apart from that, the box's only contents were a piece of paper and what looked suspiciously like a potion.
The earrings were presumably made of mother-of-pearl, as they were pastel pink in colour and very rounded in shape, and of course they were a very odd thing to give to a boy.

The paper fluttered onto the ground face-up, and the huge, swirly writing on it said "No, the earrings aren't for you. You'll know who they're for when you see them. Hurry."

Very strange indeed. But stranger still was that the Pokemon seemed to be waiting for something, as they were all very still and quiet, looking a little nervous.

Two things flashed through Kyle's brain (no, not the sentient part, the one that Kyle actually does his thinking with) as he saw the earrings and the paper: Earrings were a very odd present to give to a guy, and for the life of him he couldn't figure out what the heck was on the paper.

"Origin, please tell me you can read this," he muttered, passing it to her.

Kyle, have you become illiterate?

Oh, yeah, you just act all high and mighty while I, the main persona, struggle to read swirly handwriting. I don't get it- I used to be able to do this...

Yeah- before your Brain, that is, I, gained sentiency and a controlling interest in the area of the brain section that allows you to read.

You know what it says.

Yes.

And you aren't going to tell me.

Yeah. Other than that the earrings are for someone we are apparently destined to meet. Anyway, let's see why the little grass-type peoples are so nervous...

Kyle twitched, then turned to the numerous grass-types surrounding him. <Are you guys-> he began in Pokespeak, then coughed before returning to human language, "Are you guys waiting for something weird to happen to me, or what?"
